Meeting: Salem Licensing Board held Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 4:00 pm in the third floor conference room, 120 Washington Street. Present were members: Robert St. Pierre, chairman and member John Casey. Absent were: member Rick Lee, Investigator for the Board, Lt. Ouellette and Melissa Pagliaro, Clerk.
Approved: Application for a Common Victualler’s License. Applicant: Zero G, LLC d/b/a Ben & Jerry’s. Present: Susan Hull.
Ms. hull said that she is applying for a Common Victualler’s License in her name for Ben & Jerry’s. She said she has the ad and the receipts.
Mr. Casey asked what hours she would be operating.
Ms. Hull said noon until nine pm, seven days a week.
Mr. Casey asked if the floor plans and menu are staying the same.
Ms. Hull said that they were.
Mr. Casey asked if there would be any form of entertainment.
Ms. Hull said no.
Mr. Casey asked if the store is up and running right now.
Ms. Hull said that it is and that she has been working on getting the license.
Mr. Casey asked if she has her routing slip.
Ms. Hull said she thinks Ms. Pagliaro has it in her file.
Mr. Casey motioned to approve the application pending confirmation of the routing slip.
Mr. St. Pierre seconded.
Approved: Application for a One Day Liquor License. Applicant: Salem Chamber of Commerce. Present: Rinus Oosthek.
Mr. St. Pierre asked what the event was.
Mr. Oosthek said that it was the annual sponsorship launch party for the Salem Maritime Festival held in August. He said the event is held on the Friendship for about 50-60 people and that there is an officer from the park service there.
Mr. Casey asked who was going to pour.
Mr. Oosthek said that Brenda McGowan’s husband is TIPS certified and will be pouring.
Mr. Casey said that this event is under the Salem Chamber which is a non profit so the fee will be waived as well.
Mr. Casey motioned to approve.
